CARDINAL LAND CONSERVANCY
VOLUNTEER RELEASE and WAIVER of LIABILITY

I, the undersigned, as a condition of volunteering with Cardinal Land Conservancy, Inc., an Ohio
nonprofit corporation (“CLC”), and otherwise participating in CLC events, agree to the following:
I agree to comply with the requirements outlined in CLC’s “Cardinal Land Conservancy Adult
Volunteer Program Policies” as the same may be amended by CLC from time to time (the
“Policies”). I will conduct myself in a professional manner, dress appropriately, contribute to a
positive work environment, and comply with all laws, rules, and regulations and directives of CLC’s
representatives. I will comply with any training CLC might require regarding specific work-related
activities. In addition, I will endeavor to complete work within any timelines that might exist. I will
work under the supervision of a designated CLC staff person and will be asked to record my time.
I assume responsibility for all minors (under the age of 18) that I bring to CLC properties or CLC
related events, and will indemnify and hold CLC harmless from any claims, damages, bodily injury,
or death resulting from or related to my failure to supervise the same.
I understand and will follow CLC’s policies and directives on maintaining safe volunteer conditions
at all times, including personal health conditions, use of equipment, encouragement for using
Personal Protective Equipment, and signing additional releases for specific activities.
I consent to the use of my photographs, images, video, or audio recordings by CLC in media and
other publications (online and print), without attribution or remuneration. I understand this may
include the use of my name in conjunction with the photo/image.
I understand that my activities for CLC present a risk of bodily injury, illness, and/or death. I
hereby assume all such risks. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (i) I hereby
waive, release, and agree to hold CLC and its officers, directors, and employees (“CLC Group”)
harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, and liability arising from or in connection
with my volunteer service, including claims related to property damage, bodily injury, and/or death;
(ii) I agree that in no event will CLC or any member of the CLC Group be liable for (a) special,
exemplary, punitive, indirect, or consequential damages, including damages for pain and suffering,
emotional distress, and loss of wages; or (b) any damages in excess of $500. I will bring any such
claim only in a court of competent jurisdiction located in the county in which my services were
physically performed.
